Backround[]
Dr. Kirk Langstrom tested a serum based on bats' echolocation abilities on himself to try and cure his growing deafness, but it actually transformed him into a man-sized bat. Though Man-Bat is an enemy of Batman, Langstrom himself is not evil, and uses his transformations for good when he is able to control the Man-bat’s instincts.
